It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pelham can now relate to. They came up short against the Johnson County Trojans on Wednesday, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pelham's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Johnson County, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pelham beat the Trojans by a score of 4-1 later that day.
