The La Canada Spartans will head out to take on the Mayfield Cubs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. La Canada is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

If Mayfield heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when La Canada took over last week. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Burroughs on Friday. The victory continues a trend for La Canada in their matchups with Burroughs: they've now won three in a row.

La Canada hit Burroughs with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mathilde Ayoub (2), Samantha Hosford (2), and Tiffani Na-Nakornpanom.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Mayfield was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of San Marino by a score of 1-0. The loss put an end to Mayfield's undefeated start to the season.

La Canada's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mayfield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went La Canada's way against Mayfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as La Canada made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cubs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
