Basketball Recap: Ali Jacobs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carmichaels over Bentworth

Carmichaels was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bentworth Bearcats. The Mighty Mikes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Carmichaels' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ali Jacobs, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Duski Staggers, who put up six points.

Carmichaels' record is now 0-10. As for Bentworth, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmichaels will venture away from home to challenge Chartiers-Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bentworth, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bethlehem Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
