Basketball Game Preview: Beyer Patriots vs. Ceres Bulldogs

The Beyer Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Ceres Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Beyer took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Pacheco 47-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since December 18, 2023.

Kylie Kulina was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Beyer's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevayh Gonzales-Taylor, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Ceres beat Grace Davis 65-55 on Thursday.

Ceres' win came from a few key players Beyer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Arrayah Stallworth, who earned 12 points along with seven boards and five assists. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Leifried, who scored ten points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Ceres was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Ceres has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Beyer, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Beyer ended up a good deal behind Ceres in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 53-35. Can Beyer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
