Basketball Recap: Cumberland Valley Christian's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

Cumberland Valley Christian saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-38 win over the Christian Community Warriors. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 168th in Pennsylvania, while the Warriors are ranked 641st in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Community lost, don't look at Anna Blumfeldt. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points and seven steals. Blumfeldt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Julia Restivo, who scored two points along with six boards and four steals.

Cumberland Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Christian Community and nudges their season record down to 13-13.
