Baseball Recap: Cedartown Takes a Loss

Cedartown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dalton Catamounts. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Catamounts this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-2 defeat on Friday.

Cedartown's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Dalton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Cedartown will head out to challenge Southeast Whitfield County at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.16 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dalton, they will square off against Cartersville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Catamounts surely won't give up without a fight.
