Basketball Recap: Nipomo Titans vs. Righetti Warriors

Nipomo had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-4 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Righetti Warriors and fell 62-21. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 70-27 to the Warriors when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Righetti, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 26, 2024 (when they won 60-16).

Righetti got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexie Simon out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Simon continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cassandra Hernandez, who posted eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Nipomo and Mission College Prep will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Righetti, they will face off against El Diamante at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
