The Overton Eagles will head out to face off against the Pleasanton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
On Tuesday, Overton was able to grind out a solid victory over Anselmo-Merna, taking the game 58-47.

It was another big night for Gracen Hughes, who shot 47% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Those 22 points gave her a new career-high. Halynn Hughes was another key player, going 6-for-15 to rack up 16 points along with five boards and three steals.
Overton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anselmo-Merna only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton got the win against South Loup on Saturday by a conclusive 44-19. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Overton better focus on containing Tenley Flood and Kenlie Zwiener as the pair were huge in Pleasanton's win. Flood posted nine points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds, while Zwiener shot 71% from the field en route to 11 points. Flood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brittany Riley, who had four points and seven steals.
Overton's record now sits at 5-1. As for Pleasanton, their record is now 4-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Overton has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Pleasanton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Overton was able to grind out a solid win over Pleasanton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 53-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
