League recap: League lead hangs in balance for Ringgold, North Murray this week

5A-AAA league recap: 3/27/13

North Murray trails Ringgold by just 0.5 games in 5A-AAA standings, which means there could be a new first-place team by next week.

The Tigers came away with the most league victories this week in the league, with two. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe vanquished Sonoraville 6-3.

Coahulla Creek boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to the Colts' Braiden Jacobs, who churned out two hits in three at bats for a .667 average. He's batting .400 on the year, which puts him at third in the league. Jacobs has totaled six hits this season.



Coahulla Creek's Blake Phillips led the league in strikeouts this week with three. With 26 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.
