Softball Recap: Thomson Triumphs

Thomson's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Laney Wildcats a 16-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Callie Ann Usry was excellent, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Andie Ducey was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Thomson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Thomson will head out to square off against Glascock County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laney will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' match: after the Bulldogs face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Laney again at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
