Basketball Recap: Elie Bstandig Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lourdes Central Catholic

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer hadn't done well against Lourdes Central Catholic recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Titans came out on top against the Knights by a score of 48-39. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 58-48 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elie Bstandig, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Bstandig has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadi McClarnen, who posted five points and three steals.

Lourdes Central Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia White, who scored ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Mikena Haag was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer will be home for the holidays to greet Exeter-Milligan/Friend on Thursday. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Pawnee City on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
