Basketball Recap: Justin Garza Comes Up Short

Justin Garza's tournament run continued when they took on Merced on Thursday. The Justin Garza Guardians lost to the Merced Bears on the road by a 60-45 margin. The contest marked the Guardians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

It was another big night for Diego Aguilar, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points and six rebounds for Merced. Aguilar continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Thomas, who posted six points and four steals.

Justin Garza's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Merced, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Justin Garza wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-41 victory against Independence on the 27th. As for Merced, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-32 win against Pleasant Grove on the 27th.
