Soccer Recap: Newton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Newton hadn't done well against Rockdale County recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Newton Rams never let the Rockdale County Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Newton's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Rockdale County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

Coming up, Newton will face off against South Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockdale County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Grovetown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockdale County will be up against Grovetown's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.6 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
