Basketball Recap: Moises Gonzalez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverside Christian Academy over Combine Academy Varsity

Riverside Christian Academy easily dispatched Fayetteville O on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Royals fell just short of the Combine Academy Varsity Goats by a score of 60-57 on Saturday.

Riverside Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Moises Gonzalez, who went 9-for-17 en route to 24 points and four steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Braydon Temple was another key player, shooting 41% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Riverside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Combine Academy Varsity, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside Christian Academy will welcome Wayne Preparatory Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Combine Academy Varsity, they will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
