Baseball Game Preview: Alcovy Tigers vs. Apalachee Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Alcovy Tigers take on Apalachee Wildcats at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Alcovy is looking for their season's first victory.

Alcovy lost 17-3 to Apalachee on Friday.

For Apalachee's part, the team relied heavily on JJ Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Gonzalez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell Malcom, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Apalachee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Apalachee's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Alcovy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
