Basketball Recap: Williamson Skates Past Galeton with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Williamson over Galeton in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Williamson Warriors blew the Galeton Tigers out of the water with a 50-13 final score. With the Warriors ahead 32-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Kenna Thomas was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards. Those 26 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Jones, who posted seven points in addition to nine steals and six assists.

Williamson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Despite the defeat, Galeton had strong showings from Amira Jackson, who put up eight points and four steals, and Lynlee Basile, who had five points.

The win got Williamson back to even at 4-4. As for Galeton, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Williamson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-36 loss against North Penn-Liberty on the 8th. As for Galeton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-13 defeat against Port Allegany on the 7th.
