Football Recap: Rome Takes Down Lovejoy in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Rome had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lovejoy Wildcats 47-16. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

The win (which was Rome's ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games. As for Lovejoy, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Rome will take on Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lovejoy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
