Softball Recap: Cozad Starts Season with Win at Home

Cozad took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Hershey Panthers as they made off with a 10-1 victory. The Haymakers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Hammerlun, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Henessy Cargill, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Cozad has already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Grand Island Central Catholic on the 23rd. As for Hershey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-2 loss against Highway 6 on the 22nd.
