Preview: Santa Teresa Saints vs. Prospect Panthers

The Santa Teresa Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Prospect Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Santa Teresa was able to grind out a solid win over Leigh, taking the game 45-38.

Dahlia Daboul continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points. Nevaeh Lacy was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Meanwhile, Prospect had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against Silver Creek by a score of 41-28. Given Prospect's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Silver Creek is ranked 740th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Santa Teresa pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Prospect, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Santa Teresa came up short against Prospect in their previous matchup back in January, falling 45-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Prospect's Sadie Slaughter, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Now that Santa Teresa knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
