Soccer Game Preview: Calamus-Wheatland vs. Western Dubuque

The Calamus-Wheatland Warriors will square off against the Western Dubuque Bobcats on Thursday. Calamus-Wheatland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Calamus-Wheatland turned things around against Assumption on Thursday. They and the Knights finished up their game with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Calamus-Wheatland have been dealt a draw since back in April.

Meanwhile, Western Dubuque was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Linn-Mar. While losing is never fun, Western Dubuque can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Linn-Mar are ranked 32nd).

Western Dubuque's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. Calamus-Wheatland's draw gives them a new season record of 4-9-2.
