Football Game Preview: Rivera Raiders vs. Donna Redskins

The Rivera Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Donna Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Rivera made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Harlingen South, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 16-13 last Thursday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Donna fell victim to Flour Bluff and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Hornets, falling 79-0. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 949th, while the Hornets are ranked 252nd).

Donna's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rivera, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Rivera came up short against Donna in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 20-9. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
