Softball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gilbert's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pella Dutch on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dutch this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in June.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 18-16. As for Pella, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-12.

Gilbert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pella, they will be playing at home against Xavier on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Dutch have won three straight at home, while the Saints won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
