Basketball Recap: Madera South Sets Scoring Season-High Against Minarets + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madera South). They enjoyed a cozy 43-25 win over the Minarets Mustangs on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Stallions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Madera South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from GEORIYAH GATEWOOD, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave GATEWOOD a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CRYSTALINA BUITRON, who earned ten points.

Despite the loss, Minarets still got an impressive performance from Savannah Garabedian, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points along with six blocks and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Madera South and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 52 points in those games. As for Minarets, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Madera South has already played their next game, a 31-20 defeat against Mariposa County on the 6th. As for Minarets, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-26 loss against Yosemite on the 8th.
