Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Raiders vs. Mt. Blue Cougars

The Oak Hill Raiders will head out to square off against the Mt. Blue Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Oak Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Hall-Dale and fell 5-4.

Braden New was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Hill's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Kieran Stanley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Blue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-5 to Mt. Ararat. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since April 29th.

Oliver Cormier made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Parker Smith was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mt. Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Oak Hill, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
