Soccer Game Preview: El Capitan vs. La Costa Canyon

The El Capitan Vaqueros will head out on the road to square off against the La Costa Canyon Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Capitan's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Things were looking good for El Capitan after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Rancho Bernardo by a score of 2-1. Lia Peterson was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

El Capitan's goal came courtesy of Karleigh Torres, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, La Costa Canyon and Mission Hills finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

El Capitan now has a losing record at 3-4. La Costa Canyon's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-2.
