Baseball Recap: Man Triumphs

Man took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Gilmer County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hillbillies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Titans on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hillbillies.

Grayson Sanders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Cantrell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Man is 4-1 when Cantrell posts two or more stolen bases, but 10-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braxton Sword, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Man's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Gilmer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-6.

As of now, neither Man nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
