Alleghany won against Wilkes Central last Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Trojans claimed a resounding 42-12 win over the North Wilkes Vikings. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.

Alleghany was led to victory by Aiden Love and John LeMasters. Love gained 235 total yards and three touchdowns, while LeMasters rushed for 81 yards and two TDs. Love really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Alexis Nuevo was another key rusher, rushing for 93 yards on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Alleghany was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 400 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Another reason for the win was Alleghany's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, AJ Perong was the leader with two.

The victory made it two in a row for Alleghany and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games. As for North Wilkes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
