Softball Recap: Kiefer Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Kiefer ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Jones Longhorns. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won four in a row.

Addison Dossett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Triniti Roskydoll was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Maleigha Presley, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Kiefer's win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-14.

Kiefer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jones, they will venture away from home to face off against Harrah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Longhorns' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
