Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Comes Up Short

Badger hit Elkhorn with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Elks fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 6-5. The Elks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Badgers earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Boyd Piedot was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Elkhorn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Romeo Morales, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

With the loss, Elkhorn broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Badger, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.
