Basketball Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Asheville Christian Academy extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gaston Christian Eagles. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Gaston Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 71.7 points this season.

Cameron Newman was his usual excellent self, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Brayden Milner was another key player, putting up nine points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Asheville Christian Academy will take on High Point Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gaston Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Concord Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Christian will need to watch out since Concord Academy has now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
