Basketball Recap: Soquel Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Soquel extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They came up short against the St. Francis Sharks, falling 46-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 52-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

As for St. Francis, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Liliana Whitmeyer, who shot 48% from the field en route to 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Francis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Grio, who posted four points along with nine steals and five rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Soquel will venture away from home to face off against Seaside at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for St. Francis, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Anzar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
