Softball Recap: Clinch County's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Clinch County might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Charlton County who claimed the real prize. The Panthers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-3. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sophie Corbitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Alyssa Giddens was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clinch County fell to 5-1. As for Charlton County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5-1.

Looking ahead, Clinch County will venture away from home to face off against Fitzgerald at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Purple Hurricane have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Charlton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Echols County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
