Basketball Recap: Tahquitz Titans vs. Temescal Canyon Titans
After flying high against West Valley last Friday, Tahquitz came back down to earth. The Tahquitz Titans took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temescal Canyon Titans on Wednesday. Tahquitz has struggled against Temescal Canyon recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Tahquitz lost, don't look at Vanessa Garcia. Despite the final result, she dropped a triple-double with 32 points, 18 rebounds, and ten assists. That was a full 55.2% of Tahquitz's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Teiyona Henderson was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.
Garcia wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Tahquitz was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They racked up 13 more assists than Temescal Canyon's also-impressive total of ten.
