Softball Game Preview: Pierce County Bears vs. South Effingham Mustangs

The Pierce County Bears will take on the South Effingham Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Pierce County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Lakeside by a score of 4-0. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, South Effingham beat Wayne County 4-1 on Thursday.

Pierce County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Effingham, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Pierce County was able to grind out a solid victory over South Effingham in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
