Soccer Game Preview: San Leandro vs. Hayward

The San Leandro Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Hayward Farmers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Leandro will be strutting in after a win while Hayward will be coming in after a loss.

San Leandro's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Mt. Eden. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Hayward's offense. They fell just short of Arroyo by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Farmers have lost by just one goal.

This is the second loss in a row for Hayward and nudges their season record down to 3-7-3. As for San Leandro, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Everything went San Leandro's way against Hayward when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as San Leandro made off with a 4-1 win. In that game, San Leandro amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
