Baseball Game Preview: Deerfield-Windsor Knights vs. Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors

The Deerfield-Windsor Knights will head out on the road to take on the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Deerfield-Windsor has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Deerfield-Windsor let Tiftarea Academy stack four runs on them in the third inning on Friday but luckily Deerfield-Windsor prevailed anyway. The Knights won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 5-4.

Collins Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brantley Michlig, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Sceals, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Southwest Georgia Academy entered their tilt with Southland Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Raiders.

Deerfield-Windsor pushed their record up to 13-4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
