Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Spalding

Spalding strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Peach County Trojans by a score of 12-9. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 16-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Spalding got a massive performance out of Ra'Khiya Duffie, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Duffie is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Macie Robertson, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spalding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Spalding's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Peach County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Spalding will square off against LaGrange at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peach County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
