Softball Recap: Keys Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Keys never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Sperry Pirates with a sharp 13-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Keys has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Sperry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Keys will take on rival Spiro at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sperry is set to challenge their familiar foe Dewey at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.5, the Bulldoggers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
