Soccer Recap: Placer Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Placer can now relate to. They fell just short of the Central Catholic Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hillmen came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Raiders are ranked 561st).

Placer's goal came courtesy of Renee Atherton Turner, which was the first she's scored this season.

Placer's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Placer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Twelve Bridges on the 20th.
