Hercules hasn't had much luck against Saint Mary recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Hercules will host Saint Mary's at 4:00 p.m. Hercules is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Hercules' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Kennedy as Hercules made off with an 11-0 victory. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

David Silva Jr. made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hercules is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5-1 otherwise. Silva Jr. was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Jason Kao was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Hercules is 3-1 when Kao posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-5-1 otherwise. Nathaniel Melgoza was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Saint Mary's took on Dougherty Valley on Monday. Saint Mary's had just enough and edged out Dougherty Valley 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 10, 2024.
Saint Mary's also got a great performance from Kaleb Guynn as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Damien Nolan, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Gilmore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Saint Mary's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dougherty Valley only managed six hits.
Saint Mary's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Hercules, their win bumped their record up to 5-6-1.
Hercules' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. Hercules has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Saint Mary's, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hercules continue to outrun the ball?
Hercules might still be hurting after the 11-3 defeat they got from Saint Mary's in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Hercules avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
