Basketball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Conestoga Pioneers

The Garnet Valley Jaguars will take on the Conestoga Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Garnet Valley will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Garnet Valley strolled past Lower Merion with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Aces are ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Haylie Adamski was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 14 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was her third in a row with at least 17 points. Kylie Mulholland was another key player, going 6 of 13 to rack up 16 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Conestoga beat Haverford 28-23 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Fords: they've now won three in a row.

Garnet Valley pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27 points. As for Conestoga, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Garnet Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Conestoga in their previous meeting last Saturday, winning 50-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Garnet Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
