Softball Recap: Legacy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Boulder

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Boulder Panthers on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Kenzie Behm looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Valerie Elkins, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Susan Perkins, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Legacy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Legacy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Boulder, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Legacy will head out to challenge Longmont at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
