Recap: Upper Merion Area Vikings vs. Varsity Opponent
On Friday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Upper Merion Area made off with a 36-35 win over Varsity Opponent.
Upper Merion Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Levayda Fuqua led the charge by scoring 13 points along with four steals. Kennedy Coles was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
The win got Upper Merion Area back to even at 1-1. As for Varsity Opponent, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 35-153-3.
Upper Merion Area will take on Collegium Charter at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Collegium Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Saturday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Patterson at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
