Softball Recap: Union Grove Wolverines vs. Ola Mustangs
Union Grove blew Ola out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Ola got their revenge. The Wolverines fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-7. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Alisha Cattuzzo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Lauren Jordan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Aniyah Griffin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Union Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ola, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
