Football Game Preview: Fruitdale Pirates vs. Southern Choctaw Indians

The Fruitdale Pirates will face off against the Southern Choctaw Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fruitdale has given up an average of 36.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Fruitdale took a blow against Chickasaw, falling 48-20. The Pirates have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Fruitdale took the loss, they still got scores from Landin Holland, Elijah Reed, and Jacob Wilson.

Meanwhile, Southern Choctaw put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-8 W against Linden. The 14-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Southern Choctaw didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Daylan Coker, Jerdarius Nickelson, and Kemarian Nickelson picked up one apiece. Kemarian has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played.

Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Southern Choctaw, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
