Basketball Game Preview: Southwest SD Raiders vs. Orange Glen Patriots

The Southwest SD Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Orange Glen Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southwest SD will be strutting in after a victory while Orange Glen will be coming in after a defeat.

Southwest SD is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing High Tech CV: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Southwest SD blew High Tech CV out of the water with a 44-8 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-4.

Southwest SD's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Kim-Cardenas, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Martinez, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Orange Glen came up short against Rock Academy on Wednesday, falling 44-23. The Patriots have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Orange Glen's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Southwest SD, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Southwest SD took their win against Orange Glen when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 56-30. Will Southwest SD repeat their success, or does Orange Glen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
