Basketball Game Preview: Acalanes Dons vs. Mt. Diablo Red Devils

The Acalanes Dons will venture away from home to take on the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Acalanes will be strutting in after a win while Mt. Diablo will be coming in after a defeat.

Acalanes took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They claimed a resounding 58-30 victory over Campolindo. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, Mt. Diablo was not quite College Park's equal in the second half on Monday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 58-37. Red Devils fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Falcons since Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Mt. Diablo and nudges their season record down to 10-12. As for Acalanes, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Acalanes against Mt. Diablo when the teams last played back in January of 2025, as the squad secured a 66-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
