Basketball Recap: Collegium Charter takes loss despite strong performances from Nasira Towles and Kori Beasley

After a string of six wins, the Collegium Charter Cougar's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 46-38 to Sun Valley. Collegium Charter has not had much luck with the Vanguards recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Collegium Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Kori Beasley and Nasira Towles. Beasley scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Towles scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 36.8% of Collegium Charter's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Collegium Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Sun Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collegium Charter's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Drakes at 4:30 p.m. on February 5th. Sun Valley will take on the Longhorns at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
