Softball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Chaffee

Chaffee put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the North County Raiders 2-0. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Red Devils have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Chaffee pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for North County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Chaffee will challenge Doniphan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North County, they will face off against Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
