Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Pacific Bay Christian

Mountain View Academy came into Monday's game looking for another win against Pacific Bay Christian, but Savanna Munds wouldn't allow it. The Pacific Bay Christian Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mountain View Academy Mustangs 30-28 thanks in part to Munds, who posted 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Ashley Ayres, who put up 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Defeat or not, Mountain View Academy got some senior leadership from Audrey Mackey and Leilani Wright. Mackey went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points, while Wright scored 13 points. Wright has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Pacific Bay Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Mountain View Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Pacific Bay Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against San Francisco Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Bay Christian's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so San Francisco Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mountain View Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Kehillah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Kehillah: 21.7, Mountain View Academy: 30) so any points scored will be well earned.
